Super Mario Galaxy Film Teaser Is Here, Revealing New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the forthcoming animated feature.
Following up on the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a different royal figure and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Space-Faring Quest Based on Iconic Releases
In the vein of the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. Throughout his extensive trek, he will meet again some familiar faces, including the Luma, a popular character from the previous film.
However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also includes nods to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow
The feature will see the return of the original voice cast, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
Mario's Major Moment
The new Mario movie is planned to debut around the time of the 40-year celebration of the first Super Mario Bros. title. Beyond the film, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his companions.
The company has a set of three fresh titles officially announced for that year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
