Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Around 2,000 US Jobs – News

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are likely, with the company planning to announce all specifics via its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Prior news suggested that Paramount was looking to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
